closetnerd asked: dig your work man. I used you for a style reference in illustration class a few times. Just curious, does the freelance illustration keep you busy and financially secure or do you also have a day job? (sorry if this is clearly answered somewhere)

Thankfully I’m in some sort of government program that allows you to build up a thriving business while you get financial aid for up to three years. It’s not much, but enough to pay most bills (and still allows me to earn money from illustration jobs). It was set up during the economy crisis to help people build up new businesses because so many lost their jobs overhere, like I did.

As for illustration gigs, at this point I’m getting enough jobs to go completely independant within a year. You won’t get rich of it, but you can certainly live completely of freelance illustration.
